Sgt. Pepper Dogwood is a fast-growing deciduous shrub with a mounding habit known for its bright red stems in winter and variegated foliage. The gray green leaves with irregular white margins that emerge tinted pink and turn burgundy with hot pink margins in fall. In the spring, the shrub produces clusters of small white flowers, followed by small blue-tinted white berries that attract birds.  Best stem color occurs in full sun and moist well drained soils.
